“Social evening & Silent Auction.”

There will be bread, cheese and drinks available, cost £3.00pp.

We are hoping to raise money for Glevum activities. Why not bring along a friend.

We would be grateful for donations for the auction a maximum of 2 per member.

Robinswood Group Meeting

Saturday 2^nd August 2.00-4.00 at Hardwick Village Hall £16.00

The hosts this year are Qudegeley WI. This year is their centenary so the theme of the afternoon is the 20’s.

There will be a cold buffet (please bring cutlery if you wish), cakes.

 Entertainment by Glos Strings Ukelele band.

Attendees are encouraged to dress 20’s style for the occasion.

 

Anniversary lunch

Our 50th Anniversary lunch is planned for Wednesday 22nd October at Café Rene.

INFORMAION FOR THE JULY MEETING

If you are planning on joining us for cheese & drinks, please bring a plate, knife & glass.

 

On arrival, please collect a unique number from Emma to allow you to bid for an item. If you have bought an item for the auction, please collect a bidding sheet for each item you have brought (max of 2 items) place your item on the tables put out, along with its bidding sheet. If you would like to put a reserve on the item, please start the sheet with 000 and the amount.  

Members will have time to look at the items in the auction and place their bids.

To make bids on items please write your unique number on the bidding sheet next to the item you are interested in and the amount you wish to bid.  

You can bid as many times as you like for an item and as many items as you wish.

All bids to be made in multiples of 50p. Keep an eye on anything you are interest in to check if you’ve been outbid!!

At the end of the evening the winning bid will be announced, payment to Emma please.

June Meeting Tuesday 10th 7.30

We have Iona Woodger coming to demonstrate flower arranging. This will be an “audience participation night”. To make your own arrangements you will need 1-3 tin cans (baked bean size) or small vases, dainty foliage, small flowers, scissors/cutters, raffia, string or ribbon if you want to make a tied arrangement and a rubbish bag.

You will find each item in the auction on display with a unique bidding sheet. Each member will be given a number and if you wish to bid for an item you will need to put your number and your bid on the appropriate sheet.

We would also be grateful for any items you could donate that we can put in the auction.

 2nd June 2025 6.00pm A visit to Brockworth Court 

 A chance for you and your friends and family to visit the house, gardens and enjoy tea & cake. The cost to book is £6.00 which will cover you for tea & cake. You can then choose to visit the garden, cost £6.00 or the house cost £6.00 or both cost £12.00. this is in addition to the original £6.00. We will be taking names and additional choices at this and the May meeting. We are not providing transport.  NFWI Annual Meeting by Zoom 4th June 2025

Twyver have hired the pavilion at Upton St Lenoards and are inviting members of Robinswood group to join them to watch the proceedings. It will be an all-day event and the cost is £5.00. Please let Viv Bick know if you would like to attend

 At the May meeting we will also be asking for your vote on this years resolution. More information on the resolution can be found in the WI Life magazine page 18. A vote will also be taken on the proposed changes to NFWI governing documents. These proposals were sent out as a consultation document in May 24 and voted on in September 24. Glevum voted in favour. These proposals will be put forward at the NFWI Annual meeting 4th June 2025. For more information on the proposed changes visit www.thewi.org.uk/constitution
